Increase ur RAM and so ur System Speed

1). Start any application, say Word. Open some large documents.

2). Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open Windows Task Manager and click Processes tab and sort the list in descending order on Mem Usage. You will notice that WINWORD.EXE will be somewhere at the top, using multiple MBs of memory.

3). Now switch to Word and simply minimize it. (Don't use the Minimize All Windows option of the task bar).

4). Now go back to the Windows Task Manager and see where WINWORD.EXE is listed. Most probably you will not find it at the top. You will typically have to scroll to the bottom of the list to find Word. Now check out the amount of RAM it is using. Surprised? The memory utilization has reduced by a huge amount.

5). Minimize each application that you are currently not working on by clicking on the Minimize button & you can increase the amount of available RAM by a substantial margin. Depending upon the number and type of applications you use together, the difference can be as much as 50 percent of extra RAM. In any multitasking system, minimizing an application means that it won't be utilized by the user right now. Therefore, the OS automatically makes the application use virtual memory & keeps bare minimum amounts of the code in physical RAM.

--[ONE ]-- Use Nero to create an image of the media. In most of the ways, this happens, so that you can later use Nero Image Drive to mount the CD and then view it.
--[TWO]-- Create a new Briefcase, by right clicking and choosing a new BriefCase, in the folder that you want to copy the file. Then synchronize the briefcase with the MPEG/AVI file of the video. At any instant of time, if you feel that the system hangs up, just close the synchronization. This method will copy the file, to the scratched extent. This method isparticularly useful, if the scratch is at the end of the movie

When you choose passwords try using simple, capital & numbers as a combination..

when you enter them in a public computer rather than entering it in sequence try entering it in a combination

for this trick suppose my password is - hi2K1987 [DEMO password]

Now when you break your password into 3 combinations and enter them one after another (without using the backspace key) so what i did was i entered 2k first then using the mouse i went to the start of the password field and entered hi then i placed the cursor at the end and entered 1987 now simply the key logger is fooled.

he will read mah password as: delghi2k1987(fooled)

Now imagine if you use a set of numbers for your password and you enter them in a combination…

so, guys next time you enter your password you know you are safe, jst a simple trick so u can use ur own imagination..

Create your own icons using Windows XP

It's shockingly easy to create your own icons using Windows XP... Let's do it!

Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Paint

On the Image menu, click Attributes

Type 32 for both the Width and Height of the document, and make sure that Pixels is selected under Units

Click OK to create a new 32x32-pixel document: the size of an icon

Now add type, color, or do whatever you'd like to your image.

I like to shrink photos (headshots work great) to 32x32 and simply paste them into my Paint document.

When you're finished, open the File menu and click Save As.

Use the dialog box to choose where you want to save your file, then give it a name followed by ".ico" and click Save.
You just created an icon! Now you can change any shortcut or folder to your own icon!

Now you just right click on any icon, click Properties, select change icon.

Select browse and follow the path you set to your newly created masterpiece!

Whenever u install XP, it automatically creates a built in account called "Administrator". It has administrative priviliges. Most Windows users don't use this account since its not displayed on the welcome screen. One more thing bout dis account is that it is not password protected (until n unless u have changed the password).
To access this account you have 2 start XP in Safe mode.

To start XP in Safe mode:

1. Restart XP.
2. Before it starts to load, press F8 key continously.
3. A menu will appear. In that select 1st option ie. Safe Mode and press enter.
4. Next it shows all the Windows OS installed on your hard drive. Select the one of which you have forgotten the password and press enter.
5. Wait for OS to load...
6. On the welcome screen you can now see the built in Administrator account. Just log in...:)

7. If you have a classic logon then in User name field type "Administrator" and press enter...
8. Enjoy...:)

Multiple login for google talk

How to disable the right click functionality on the desktop

Follow the given steps to disable the right click functionality on desktop:

To use this feature, you will need to be logged into your computer with administrative rights.
Click Start button and type regedit in Run option then press Enter for next.

Here locate the location to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer

Here in right side panel, right click to create a new DWORD value with the name NoViewContextMenu (it is case sensitive), then assign number 1 in value data box.

Now close the registry editor and restart your computer after any changes to go into effect.

How To Prioritize Your Important Applications

We do multitasking all the time with our PC right? How unfair it would be to lose a CD while burning your favorite songs just because you were watching a video at the same time and the processor couldn't take the load?

Here is your solution:
   

1. Press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC or open TASK MANAGER.

2. Go to the second tab called Processes

3. Right click on one of the active processes, you will see the Set Priority option

4. For e.g., Run your CD writer program, set the priority higher, and no more wasted cd from now on.

This hack works if you are at someone else's home and you are logged into the account of the person whose account you want to hack and only in Windows XP. This also works if you want to hack someone else's account on your pc bit do not know his/her password.
Click on START-->RUN.
Type compmgmt.msc & press enter.
In the left pane, select COMPUTER MANAGEMENT--> SYSTEM TOOLS--> LOCAL USERS AND GROUPS--> USERS.
Then in the right pane, select the user name whose account you want to hack. RIGHT
CLICK and then click on SET PASSWORD from the pop-up menu.

Folder option missing

Many of us sometimes find the folder options missing in windows explorer.
Here's the solution-->

Open Run and then type "gpedit.msc".
Now goto User Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer.
Click on Windows Explorer you will find the 3rd option on the right side of screen "Removes the Folder Option menu item from the Tools menu" Just check it, if it is not configured then change it to enable by double clicking on it and after applying again set it to not configured.
